The short version
- Your code, project paths, and command output never leave your machine. PHPTinker has no telemetry.
- The app makes one kind of network call on its own: license validation.
- We only hold the data you give us directly — your email and the details needed to sell and support a license.
Information we collect
License validation
To activate and periodically verify your license, the app sends your license key, a generated machine identifier, and the app version to our licensing server. We use this only to confirm the license is valid and to enforce activation limits.
Early access & email
If you join the early-access list, we store the email address you submit so we can contact you about availability and your complimentary license. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Payments
Purchases are processed by our payment provider, Razorpay. Card, UPI, net-banking, and wallet details are entered directly with Razorpay and are handled under their security standards — we never see or store your full payment credentials. We receive the transaction record, the email you provide, and the billing information needed for receipts and tax.

If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can help you and reference past issues.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your source code, the contents of your buffers, the projects you open, the output PHPTinker produces, or any usage analytics from inside the app. The app contains no third-party tracking SDKs.
AI features
AI assist is opt-in and uses a bring-your-own-key model. When you enable it and trigger a request, your prompt and the relevant code are sent directly from your machine to the AI provider you configured (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic) under your own account and their terms. PHPTinker is not in the middle of that request and does not log it. If you never add a key, no AI calls are made.

- To comply with legal obligations
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make the product work — our payment processor and email/hosting infrastructure — and only as needed to deliver the service, or where required by law.
Data retention
We keep license and purchase records for as long as needed for support, accounting, and legal requirements. Early-access emails are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these, email us at support@phptinker.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
